Temecula, California Dec 28, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - The Mr Ms Military Organization was created by U.S. Navy veteran Calvin Hill and his wife Marchetta to help military vetran families in low to moderate income levels. After two years the company is now expanding it's annual event the Mr and Ms Military Showcase. In addition to educating military veterans in financial literacy, the event also celebrates and appreciates the accomplishments of active duty and military veterans from all branches of service.
At the Mr and Ms Military Showcase last November, judges selected U.S. Navy veteran Reginald Green out of San Diego, CA to be Mr. Military 2025 and U.S. Air Force active duty recruiter Sigourney Rosario out of Georgia to be Ms. Military 2025.
Some people call the event a pageant for nonprofits that features military veterans. That is because military veterans can't participate without a nonprofit organization to promote. Calvin Hill the event's creator says, "Unlike other events our focus is not on beauty - but the community. It is my job to get our military veterans to understand that, especially the men who may feel they are too macho to compete in a competition for a Mr. Military title."This event changes lives and impacts communities not only locally but nationwide as well. Hill says, "Many of the contestants have told me that participating in the event has increased the confidence within themselves and that they would participate again. "The event showcases veterans who promote their favorite nonprofit on social media to help them receive new donations, new members and extra exposure for their causes. "When we make our nonprofits stong, then the individuals and families that rely on those nonprofits will be even - stronger." says Hill. To stress it's importance, this category is where the bulk of the scoring is placed. The four scoring categories are: nonprofit promotion, talent, formalwear, and general military question. Here is a great example of how USAF active duty service-member Kristen Domke promoted her favorite nonprofit on social media watch short video. That is how MMMO's event helps to strengthen local and national communities. In 2025 they want to double the number of nonprofits helped in the previous years.
Hill says, "With all the positive reviews and the number of contestants doubling the previous event, it just made sense to expand the event in 2025 new year to include family members of military veterans and online competitions for city, state, or regional Mr and Ms Military titleholders." Any local or regional titleholders will be invited first to participate in the annual national Mr and Ms Military USA title event. Participating family members would have to represent the branch their veteran served in. "America has the ESPY's, the BET Awards, the Grammy's, the Oscars, the CMA's, etc. But what does it have for our military veterans? They deserve a night to shine as well. Let's give them the spotlight they deserve to have." says Hill. Check the company's website regularly for all of their upcoming events.
